Tuesday, September 13, 2005, 4:46:46 PM, >From J.F. Magaņa To member-states@oiml.org Dear CIML Members, Following the decisions of the 40th CIML Meeting, and after having received comments on the revision of certain Member States' contributory classes and examined them with the CIML President, we have posted on the web site, http://www.oiml.org/members/vote/index.html, six decisions that are submitted to your on-line approval, related to the contributory classes of the following Member States: Brazil, Indonesia, Poland, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia and Spain. You are kindly requested to vote on each of these draft decision, using the on-line voting facility, no later than 15 December 2005. We remind you that postal approval requires the following majority rules (Article XVII of the OIML Convention): - All Members of the Committee shall have been called upon to give their opinions, and - The number of votes cast shall be at least two-thirds of the number of designated Members, and - The resolutions shall have been approved unanimously by all those voting. Abstentions, blank and null votes shall not be considered as votes cast. Failure to reply within the time limit specified by the President shall be considered as an abstention. We draw your attention to these rules, which are relatively stringent. Postal approval requires a high proportion of responses (at least 40 votes cast out of 60 Member States), and also requires unanimity: the consequence of even one single "no" vote is that the approval will be postponed until the next CIML Meeting. If you cannot use this on-line facility, please either complete the voting form attached to the downloadable documents and fax it to the BIML or send an e-mail to us (biml@oiml.org) so that we can send you the documents in paper format. Thank you in advance for your cooperation J.F. Magana BIML Director
