Subject:    Situation concerning OIML R 111-1 and -2


Dear Colleagues,

With the publication today of D 9, only two further publications remain to
be dealt with by the BIML: D 28 and R 111.

D 28 has been edited and is at TC/SC final approval status and should be
published this week.

We realize that publishing R 111 (Parts 1 and 2) is of high
priority, however with the earlier scheduling of the CIML Meeting, the
increased workload due to the fact that this meeting was held in France,
various other high priority projects in the Bureau, two BIML staff changes,
a change in TC/SC Secretariat for this publication and a very large number
of editorial and technical changes required to harmonize Parts 1 and 2,
recompiling of some 130 formulae, harmonization with certain ISO
documents, etc., this task is still ongoing.

As at today we have to prepare the 130 formulae, the majority of which have
been re-written, for the layout package and introduce a number of final
amendments already agreed on between the Secretariat and the BIML, and we
are still discussing certain of these.

Please rest assured that we are working on publishing this Recommendation as
quickly as possible, whilst endeavoring to ensure the job is done as well as
possible.
