Subject:    [BIML Mailing #179]: Attendance at the Working Group on Conformity


On the occasion of the OIML Cape Town Meetings, a meeting of the Working
Group on Conformity to Type is being held on Saturday 14 October. 

This Working Group, chaired by Dr. Grahame Harvey (Australia) addresses two
main issues: 
- Assurance of conformity with the manufacturers of measuring instruments, and
- Detection by the authorities of non conformities in the instruments placed
on the market (called "market surveillance" in the European Union Directives).

The relevant documents for this WG meeting will be available shortly, and
a report will be given during the 41st CIML Meeting.

Although the WG meeting participants were registered several months ago, if
any other CIML Members wish to participate they may register by
sending an e-mail to Mrs. Patricia Saint-Germain at the BIML:
patricia.saint-germain@oiml.org with a copy to Dr. Harvey:
grahame.harvey@measurement.gov.au, no later than September 29th,
providing that the meeting room capacity is not exceeded.
