Dear colleagues,

The 46th CIML Meeting, held in Prague in October 2011 instructed the BIML to 
produce a guidance document to help with the implementation of the 2011 
edition of B 6 "Directives for OIML technical work" and the associated changes 
to the structure of the OIML's technical work.

Please find attached the following:

-  A guidance document explaining the changes as they affect secretariats
of the existing TCs and SCs;

-  A guidance document explaining the changes as they affect P- and O-members 
of the existing TCs and SCs.

I am also attaching an annotated copy of the presentation on the Directives 
which I gave in Prague.  This gives a more graphical view of the new 
structures whcih are being put in place. I hope this is easier to understand 
than a long written description.  It is in the form of a PowerPoint Show 
(.pps), and should work with version of MS PowerPoint from '97 onwards.  If 
you have any problems in opening this file, please let me know and I will  try 
to supply it in an alternative format.

For your convenience, I am also including copies of B 6-1:2011 and B 6-2:2011, 
whcih were published on the OIML web site today.

Please take the time to read the guidance documents and to take note of the 
proposed timetable for the implementation process.

You will shortly hear from me or from one of my BIML colleagues about your own 
country's participation in the OIML's technical work, as well as about how the 
changes will affect your own TC or SC secretariat if you hold one.

I would also like to ask that you circulate this message and its attachments 
to anyone in your organisation that participates in OIML technical work, so as 
to spread the information as widely as possible.
