Dear Colleagues,

On the agenda for the 47th CIML Meeting in Bucharest is item 9.5: 

“The new SI and the impact on legal metrology”. 

You will be asked to vote on a resolution adopting a CIML statement in response to Resolution 1 (2011) 
of the CGPM. The statement is the result of the work of the ad-hoc working group “New SI” convened 
by the CIML second Vice-President, Roman Schwartz.

Roman Schwartz, Philippe Richard, Charles Ehrlich and Yukinobu Miki, all members of the 
ad-hoc group, have drafted an article for the OIML Bulletin: “The proposed new SI and 
consequences for legal metrology” (attached for your information).  The article will be published 
after the CIML has approved the proposed statement on the new SI.
